Profile of Pastor Rainford McIntosh

Pastor R McIntosh

A native of Jamaica, he lived, worked and studied in the United Kingdom some years ago; so he is treading on familiar ground.

His preparation for the ministry started at Newbold College in Bracknell, Berkshire. He completed his B.A (in Theology) at the Northern Caribbean University and he earned a M.A (in Education) from Andrews University, Michigan, U.S.A.

He served in the West Jamaica Conference with headquarters in Montego Bay as pastor – evangelist and taught at tertiary level in Seventh-day Adventist Education as a teacher, registrar, Vice-Principal and Acting Principal. He served on the Conference Executive Committee.

Since coming to England, he served in the city of Wolverhampton at the Great Brick Kiln Street and Pendeford Churches before assuming pastoral responsibilities at Handsworth, Newtown & Great Barr along with Bournville & Handsworth African Fellowship where he  served as Senior Pastor and assisted in the supervision of the Windsor Street, Ladywood & Northfield churches.

His wife, Diane serves as a Health Visitor with a degree and diploma in Nursing and its Administration.

Their son, Mark is a University student who served as Head Boy at the Savanna-La-Mar High School in Jamaica.

Rainford’s passion for ministry lies in preaching, teaching, church administration and conducting Personal Bible Studies with new Christians and prospective members.

In addition to his regular responsibilities, Pastor McIntosh enjoys meeting people, reading history, travelling, cooking, gardening and listening to music.

His greatest desire in life is to help others prepare for the glorious return of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.
